SEATTLE RESIDENTS URGED TO TAKE NOTE OF LATEST
EARTHQUAKE FINDING
San Marcos, CA – (October 1, 1999) – This week’s
discovery of an existing fault under the intersection of Interstate Highways 5
& 90 in Seattle should be a wake up call for local residents to be prepared
for the possibility of an earthquake.
The timely advice comes from Trevco, America’s
leading manufacturer and distributor of safety, security and fastening
products.
The company’s expertise lies in earthquake safety
fasteners for the home or office and president, Dran Reese, says what Seattle
residents cannot afford to do is ignore the latest finding.
“This discovery is yet more evidence of the
earthquake potential in the Pacific Northwest and it’s crucial for people to be
prepared for any eventuality. When a quake hits it’s the big-ticket items in a
home that can cause the most damage so they need to be secured in place.
“Anyone who has been through an earthquake will be
familiar with the heartache and trauma associated with losing treasured
possessions, but what people need to know is that it can be avoided.”
Ms Reese adds that the contents of an entire home
can be secured for as little as $50.
“We have a house schematic on our website that shows
exactly how to secure the contents and how easily and inexpensively it can be
done. We believe that it’s important for everyone in the community to be
prepared and to have access to this kind of information.”
Trevco supplies a range of straps designed to secure
down items such as china cabinets, wall units, televisions and computers. The
company also has developed temporary adhesives for anchoring collectibles and
fine art to prevent accidental breakage.
Trevco products are marketed under the brand name of
Quakehold! and are available through selected hardware stores and gift
shops.
